Sparking Change Retreats
Colorado Men's Wellness Retreat
A Sparking Change retreat in Colorado is a few days in a private mountain home with 8 to 12 men who are tired of running on empty. The days mix stress and sleep science, outdoor challenges, sauna and cold, and honest conversation, and every man goes home with a plan and a follow-up schedule.
Why Colorado
Colorado's high country gives you big trails, thin air and cold mornings. The afternoon challenge is usually a hike or a mountain bike ride, and the altitude makes recovery something you feel rather than something you read about. Joey trained at the University of Denver, so this is familiar ground.
What the days look like
Every Sparking Change retreat runs on the same framework as the coaching programs, compressed into a few days. A typical day:
- 7:00 AM Sunrise movement and breathwork
- 8:00 AM Breakfast and nutrition education with the chef and nutritionist
- 9:30 AM Workshop: stress science, mindset or nervous system regulation
- 11:00 AM Sauna and cold plunge with guided recovery
- 2:00 PM Workshop: goal setting, dopamine reset or performance identity
- 4:00 PM Outdoor challenge, often a trail hike or a mountain bike ride
- 6:30 PM Dinner and a community circle
- 8:00 PM Integration with the mentor team
Morning and night check-ins run the whole time, and there's a guest speaker each day.
Before you arrive and after you leave
Before the retreat, every man completes bloodwork, an intake questionnaire and a call with the team, and a partner physician reviews the labs. After it, you get an integration worksheet within 48 hours, a follow-up call with Joey within a week, and a lab retest with your physician at four to six weeks. If you want to keep going, coaching picks up where the retreat leaves off.

Common questions
How many men are on each retreat?
8 to 12. The group is kept small on purpose so everyone gets direct time with Joey and the team, and no one sits on the sidelines.
Will the altitude affect me?
It can, especially the first night or two. If you have a heart or lung condition, or any medical concern, check with your doctor before you book and mention it on your pre-retreat call.
When is the next retreat?
Book a free call to ask about upcoming dates, apply, or join the waitlist.
Is this therapy or medical care?
No. The retreat is coaching and education, built on Joey's clinical training as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Lab work is reviewed by a partner physician, and anything medical stays with your own doctor.
